Court sacks Lagos Assembly’s acting Clerk

The National Industrial Court in Lagos has dismissed Ottun Babatunde as the acting clerk of the House, ordering the reinstatement of Olalekan Onafeko.

The ruling followed an ex parte application filed by Onafeko, who was removed after Speaker Obasa’s ousting. Justice M. N. Esowe instructed Babatunde to cease acting as clerk until further hearings on March 3. The decision marks another twist in the Assembly crisis, which has seen legal battles, DSS interventions, and allegations of attacks on security personnel.
