COVID-19: 60 Ukraine returnees test positive

According to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), 60 Nigerians who were evacuated from Ukraine tested positive for COVID-19.

The NCDC’s data revealed that 24 hours after making known the lowest daily figure ever recorded since the outbreak in 2020, two cases. It recorded 118 additional infections the next day.

The statistics show that the Nigerian returnees from Ukraine contributed to the surge, as they accounted for a total of 60 out of the whole amount.

Since the invasion, both countries have recorded casualties, prompting many Ukrainians, including Nigerians, to flee to neighboring countries.
