Detectives on Tuesday grilled the founder and Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, for over eight hours over the rape allegations levelled against him by wife a popular musician, Busola Dakolo.

Dakolo had alleged that the cleric raped her 20 years ago when she was a teenager in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Fatoyinbo was questioned at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Garki Area 10, Abuja, by a team of detectives led by Assistant Comissioner of Police, Adaku Anya.

It was gathered that the pastor was granted an administrative bail around 9pm.

Apart from the COZA pastor, detectives also questioned the COZA pastor in Port Harcourt, Wole Soetan, and his counterpart in Lagos, Folarin Ogunsola.

The force spokesman, DCP Frank Mba, confirmed that Fatoyinbo was still at the FCID as of 79.40pm when this report was filed.

He said, “He is still with us, but I can’t say if he would be released tonight (last night). It depends on if he meets his bail conditions.”

Mba disclosed that many witnesses had been questioned, adding that the investigation would soon be concluded.

Fatoyinbo’s interrogation is coming weeks after he shunned an invitation extended to him by the police.

The pastor had also shunned a panel set up by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria to investigate the rape allegations, stating that he was advised by his lawyers not to appear before the panel.

The cleric in a statement last Friday, however, said he could appear before the panel after the police investigations.
