Crime: We won’t allow youth restiveness in Kogi – Ododo

Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has said security of lives and property in the state remain top priority of his administration.

The governor said his administration will thwart any efforts to undermine the state’s prevailing of peace.

In a statement issued on Friday, Ismaila Isah, Ododo’s special adviser on media, said the governor spoke during an interactive session with youth and student leaders at the government house in Lokoja.

Ododo ordered the immediate payment of bursary to all students of Kogi state origin in higher institutions across the country.

He also directed immediate payment all arrears of subvention to youth and students associations in the state.

The governor said the security architecture in the state has yielded positive results in the fight against violent crimes, and must be sustained to ensure peace and stability, urging security agencies to arrest and prosecute anyone found responsible for any form of public misconduct.

He decried attempts by unpatriotic individuals attempting to disrupt state peace, pledged to resist any attempt to initiate violent protests in any form.

Ododo called on the youth and students of the state not to be exploited by enemies who have no stake in the progress and development of Kogi.
