The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has commenced the distribution of 80,000 10kg bags of rice to the vulnerable population in Lagos State.
Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group and Chairman of the foundation, highlighted that the distribution is part of a larger effort to distribute over one million 10kg bags of rice, reaching vulnerable individuals across the 774 local government areas of Nigeria.
Addressing the event at Alausa, Dangote emphasized that distributing the 80,000 bags of 10kg rice underscores the foundation’s dedication to embodying values of compassion and solidarity inherent in humanity.
He pointed out that in addition to the rice distribution, the foundation also distributes 12,500 loaves of bread daily in Lagos, aiming to alleviate the challenges faced by vulnerable communities in the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State commended Dangote’s numerous initiatives aimed at easing the plight of Nigerians, applauding his compassion towards those in need. Sanwo-Olu observed that the distribution of 80,000 bags of 10kg rice reflects the foundation’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the people over profit and wealth accumulation.
