Death of Ray Ekpu’s wife, Uyai, a great loss — Gov Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has extended his deepest sympathies to Mr. Ray Ekpu, former Chief Executive Officer of Newswatch Magazine, on the passing of his wife, Mrs. Uyai Ekpu. He described her death as a significant loss to the Ekpu family.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu mourned Mrs. Ekpu, who passed away last Wednesday at the age of 73. He also expressed condolences to her family, friends, and associates.

Additionally, the Governor conveyed his condolences to the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN), the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), acknowledging the impact of the loss on the journalism community.

According to Sanwo-Olu, “It is with a deep sense of sorrow that I commiserate with a veteran journalist and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Newswatch Magazine, Mr. Ray Ekpu, on the passing of his beloved wife, Mrs. Uyai Ekpu.”
