Manchester City’s Brazilian right-back Yan Couto has finalized his transfer to Borussia Dortmund.
The arrangement involves an initial loan, with a mandatory purchase option set at £25.3 million (30 million euros).
“For me it’s a dream come true,” said the 22-year-old, who joined City in 2020 but has played a game for the Premier League champions.
“Borussia Dortmund is a special club. Every child in Brazil knows how great this club is.
“I can’t wait to wear the BVB shirt for the first time and experience the power and emotions in this brilliant stadium.”
After joining Manchester City, Couto was first loaned to Girona, a fellow City Football Group club, for a year. He then spent two additional seasons with Girona, following a stint with Portuguese team Braga.
During his time with Girona, he played a key role in helping the La Liga side secure a spot in this season’s Champions League.
