Power Distribution Companies (DisCos) have commenced load recovery following a recent collapse of the national grid on Saturday.
As of 2:30 p.m., DisCo load had risen to 450 megawatts (MW), with the National Grid setting a target of 4,800 MW.

Benin DisCo – 70 MW
Eko DisCo – 70 MW
Enugu DisCo- 0 MW
Ibadan DisCo – 100 MW
Ikeja DisCo – 130 MW
Jos DisCo- 0 MW
Kaduna DisCo- 0 MW
Kano DisCo- 0 MW
PHarcourt DisCo- 0 MW
Yola DisCo- 0 MW
Total: 450 MW
The grid collapsed for the third time early Saturday morning, leading to total blackouts in many states.
Data obtained from the Nigerian System Operator’s portal (niggrid.org) indicated that the grid recorded an unprecedented zero megawatts (MW) as of 8:16 a.m. today.
The national grid confirmed via its verified social media account, X (formerly Twitter), that seven of the nation’s eleven electricity distribution companies had zero load allocation.
However, the spokesperson for the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Ndidi Mbah, later stated that power had been restored.
