Police authorities in Ogun have discovered a dismembered body in a sack in the Ogijo community, prompting an investigation.
The police suspect the incident to be a case of ritual killing.
In a statement, the Ogun Police Command confirmed that a dismembered female corpse had been found inside a sack.
“On 16 February 2025, at approximately 1510 hours, the Chairman of Sedu 2 Community, Ogijo, alongside two other community members, reported to the Ogijo Police Division that they had discovered an unidentified female body. The victim was described as light-skinned, around thirty years old or more, and recently deceased, found on a fenced farmland within the community,” the statement read.
“Upon receiving the report, detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), swiftly mobilised to the scene. On arrival, officers found the female corpse, missing its head and both hands, wrapped in a sack.”
The police believe the body was dumped at the location.
