On Tuesday, the House of Representatives urged the Federal Government to promptly unlock the food stocks and distribute grain to poor Nigerians.
This, according to the representatives, is to combat hunger in the land.
The resolution came after Mr Ibrahim Isiaka, the member representing the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency in Ogun State, presented a motion of national urgent concern.
Leading the conversation, Isiaka remarked that the expense of life has become extremely challenging for Nigerians, while also lamenting the rising cost of cement, “Even though we have all the raw materials for production.”
He said, “The House resolves to urge the Federal Government and stakeholders to immediately open the food reserves to address the hunger in our country.”
He also called on the apex government to boost food production and distribution.
