Donald Trump brands attempt assassination on sneakers

A new line of $299 sneakers has been launched, featuring an image of Donald Trump with streaks of blood on his cheek and pumping his fist in the air following an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. Branded as “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT High-Tops,” these white high-tops are offered by CIC Ventures LLC, a company owned by Trump as per his 2023 financial disclosure.

Limited to just 5,000 pairs, these sneakers are slated to ship between September and October. Additionally, 10 pairs will be randomly autographed. The company characterizes the shoes as a tribute to Trump’s “unwavering determination and bravery,” positioning each pair as a collector’s item and encouraging supporters to proudly display their patriotism.

It said, “These limited edition high-tops, featuring Trump’s iconic image with his fist raised, honor his unwavering determination and bravery,” it says. “With only 5,000 pairs available, each one is a true collector’s item. Show your support and patriotic pride with these exclusive sneakers, capturing a defining moment in history.”

This release follows CIC Ventures’ earlier debut of the “Never Surrender High-Tops,” shiny gold sneakers with American flag details, priced at $399. The sales of these Trump-branded shoes reflect the former president’s allies’ efforts to capitalise on his resilience and defiance after the shooting incident at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. After the attack, Trump stood up and pumped his fist toward the crowd, mouthing “fight, fight.”

Trump’s presence at the opening night of the Republican National Convention further solidified his image, receiving a warm reception. Sporting a bandage over his right ear, he appeared visibly moved as musician Lee Greenwood performed “God Bless the USA.” These moments are viewed as significant by his supporters, who believe they could bolster his efforts to reclaim the White House, challenging Democratic President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign.

Earlier this year, Trump also made a notable appearance at “Sneaker Con” to unveil shiny gold high-tops, showcasing his active involvement in branding ventures. Despite CIC Ventures claiming to be apolitical and independent from any political campaign, officials from the Trump campaign have actively promoted the company’s products online.
