Donald Trump leaves hospital after assassination attempt at rally

Former President Donald Trump has returned to his New Jersey home after being injured in an assassination attempt at a rally on Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, according to BBC reports.

Shots were fired while Trump was speaking at the event, causing panic among the crowd as Secret Service agents rushed to protect him.

Trump, who emerged with a bloodied face, stated he was shot in the ear, describing hearing a “whizzing sound” and feeling a “bullet ripping through skin.”

The FBI identified the gunman as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was shot and killed by the Secret Service.

One spectator was killed at the rally, and two others were critically injured.
