DSS arrests 23-year woman for alleged suicide threat in Kano

The Department of State Security arrested a 23-year-old woman named Fildausi Ahamadu for purportedly issuing threats to commit suicide against those she believed were accountable for the success of the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, at the election petitions tribunal in Kano State.

Reports confirmed on Tuesday that the lady, who identified herself as a supporter of the New Nigeria People’s Party and Governor Abba Yusuf, was arrested. This came after a video clip of her advocating for their cause went viral in the city.

In the video, Fildausi was heard in Hausa criticizing the lead judge of the tribunal, warning that anywhere she sees (the judge), she (Ahamadu) won’t mind holding her with a bomb to commit suicide.

Likewise, she directed a cautionary message to Gawuna, saying, “You dare not indicate your location, otherwise, I don’t mind striking you with a bomb vest to commit suicide.”

The lady further utilized the video clip to launch a verbal assault on Vice President Kashim Shettima, hurling derogatory remarks and holding him responsible for the legal challenges faced by the NNPP in Kano State.

Already, reports explained that the operatives are after the arrest of Ahamadu and taking her to court.

“We are indeed taking Fildausi Musa Ahamadu to court because these threats should not be taken lightly,” the source added.
