To shape Nigerian graduates in the diaspora for nation building, the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa has expressed interest in partnering with the National Youth Service Corps.
Director-General of DTCA Rabiu Dagari noted that many Nigerian graduates residing abroad were keen to return to Nigeria to give their fair share to the development of the country during a courtesy visit to NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.
DTCA, the African Development Bank, and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission had identified numerous more areas of partnership that the NYSC might tap into, so he pleaded with the NYSC administration to facilitate the process, and he pledged that his office would devise ways of making them feasible.
In his response, the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, said the management of the scheme had dwelt extensively on ways to maximise the potential of young Nigerian graduates for the common good of the nation during its last Annual Management Conference.
He assured his visitor that the scheme would key into the DTCA’s proposal after studying it in line with the NYSC Act.
“We’ll do our best to work in accordance with the NYSC Act”, he said.
