Edo Deputy Gov Philip Shaibu resumes duty, directs staff to follow suit

The reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has officially resumed his duties and has instructed his staff to do the same.

He has also issued a warning to banks conducting transactions with the Office of the Deputy Governor without his explicit approval, highlighting the illegality of such actions.

In a video statement, Shaibu emphasized that any staff members who have not yet returned to work following his reinstatement must do so promptly or face potential repercussions.

According to Shaibu, the Federal High Court’s ruling, which reinstated him, confirmed that his office had never been vacant.

He also expressed his sorrow over the killing of a police officer assigned to the Edo APC governorship candidate for the September 21 election.

This incident occurred shortly after Shaibu returned to Edo State following the court’s decision. He noted that some suspects have been apprehended in connection with the case.

Shaibu mentioned that, upon resuming his office, he formally requested the state governor’s approval for the reinstatement of his aides but has yet to receive a response to this request.
