The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the certificate of return to Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the winner of the Edo State Governorship election.

The presentation ceremony took place on Thursday at INEC headquarters in Abuja.

Okpebholo was declared the winner of the election, held on Saturday, September 21, after securing 291,667 votes, defeating his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 247,274 votes.
