Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has pledged to construct a 500-bed hostel for the medical school at Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma.
He made the promise during his campaign tour of several wards in Esan West Local Government Area, including Iruekpen and Ekpoma, ahead of the 16 August Edo Central Senatorial By-election.
Okpebholo said construction would begin in the coming weeks, noting that his administration had already increased the university’s subvention to ₦500 million and reconstituted its governing council.
The Governor urged party members to work towards securing 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The event was attended by senior APC figures, including Edo State Deputy Chairman Sylvester Aigboboh, Edo Central Senatorial Leader Cecil Isekhaigbe (rtd), Secretary to the State Government, and Chief of Staff Gani Audu.
