The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, has cast his vote at Idionrio Primary School, Ward 1, Unit 3, located in Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area.

This followed a report by Channels Television stating that voting began around 11:45 AM due to the late arrival of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Although INEC officials were delayed in reaching the polling unit, voters had arrived as early as 7 AM.

Security personnel and journalists were also seen waiting for the arrival of the INEC officials.

A frustrated voter, Christopher Adoghe, criticized the officials for the delay in starting accreditation and voting.

“We have been here since 7 O’clock yet, no sight of INEC officials. This is almost 10 and nothing is happening. We no go gree o! We no even see INEC. We no see anybody. Only security men.

“See as everybody sat but no sign of INEC. No accreditation, nothing is going on”, he said in an outburst.

The gubernatorial elections in Edo State are holding today, with over 2.2 million permanent voter cards collected.
