#EdoDecides2024: INEC uploads 90.33% of results on IREV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 90.33 percent of the results from the Edo governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

Results from 4,082 of the 4,519 polling units where elections were conducted have been successfully transmitted to the portal.

Earlier, Edo’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anugbum Onuoha, reassured the public in an interview on Arise Television that the electronic transmission of results would proceed smoothly, barring any network issues.

“We have trained the operators for the BVAS. They are ready. The BVAS will accredit voters and record the total number of voters at each polling unit. After voting, the results will be counted and uploaded to IReV,” Onuoha confirmed.

With over 2.2 million permanent voter cards collected, candidates from various parties, including Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party, are vying for the governorship seat.

The elected candidate will succeed Governor Godwin Obaseki, who is set to leave office on November 11 after completing two terms.
