Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday blocked access to the Abuja residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and took possession of the property.

Residents and visitors were reportedly barred from entering the street as the anti-graft agency maintained a heavy security presence around the area.

The EFCC confirmed that its officers are acting in compliance with a lawful court order backed by judicial authority.

The development follows earlier operations in which security agents targeted several properties linked to the former minister across the Federal Capital Territory. On Monday, operatives had also marked the residence for forfeiture.
