Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, has urged the Muslim ummah to uphold their Islamic duties of coexisting in peace and harmony with other people.

He advised them to refrain from taking any measures that would splinter society’s members into disparate groups.

This was said by the Emir in his sallah message, which was given at the Ilorin Central Yidi worshipping grounds just after the two rakat prayer that marked the conclusion of the beautiful month of Ramadan in 1444 AH.

While congratulating the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Emir said, “I pray that Allah continue to guide and protect him in the course of steering the ship of the state for the second term.”

As he thanked them and security personnel for the preparations made for the most recent general election, he continued by urging the residents of Ilorin Emirate and beyond to always be attentive and security-aware.

The monarch also disclosed that a powerful committee has being inaugurated tagged: “Eid Praying Ground Development & Management Committee with the Zanna of Ilorin, Engr. Yusuf Lanre Sagaya as its chairman.

“The committee has started work in earnest and we are confident that they will perform wonderfully insha Allah. May Allah guide the committee aright in this arduous task,” the Emir added.

However, he prayed for everyone who had travelled for the holy pilgrimage of Ummrah to return safely, for their illnesses to improve quickly, and for Allah to provide the dead’s families the strength and courage to endure such a terrible loss.
