Senator Godswill Akpabio, the recently-retired minister of Niger Delta affairs and senator-elect for the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, has advised Muslims to internalise the principles of forgiveness, almsgiving, and peaceful cohabitation learned during the Ramadan fast.
He also urged them to keep on praying for the country’s prosperity, unity, and peace.
The Ramadan message from Akpabio was included in a statement released on Friday to newsmen in Uyo by his chief press secretary, Mr. Jackson Udom.
According to him, “Let me use this opportunity to congratulate all the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan. I pray that may all the requests placed before almighty Allah by our Muslim brothers and sisters during this period of fasting and supplications be answered by almighty Allah.
“I pray that the peace of God that passes human understanding be bestowed upon our country, as a result of our sacrifices during the Ramadan.
“Let us also remember those in need as we celebrate and pray for the stability of our dear nation,”
