To ensure a smooth celebration of Eid-el-Kabir for Muslims in the state, the Nigeria Police Force’s Nasarawa State Command has deployed approximately 5,750 personnel across all 13 Local Government Areas.
This information was conveyed in a press release issued by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Public Relations Officer of the command, and made available to journalists in Lafia on Tuesday.
The statement read, “In preparation for Eid-el- Kabir celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, has ordered a strategic deployment of five thousand, seven hundred and fifty (5,750) Police operatives to cover all nooks and crannies of the state, which include Eid praying grounds, recreational centres and other public places.
“Vigorous crime prevention mechanisms have been emplaced on the highways to secure road users, while undercover operatives have also been deployed all over the state for surveillance and information gathering.
“The command hereby warns miscreants and disgruntled elements who might want to leverage on the occasion and perpetrate criminality to steer clear of the State or they shall be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.”
