#Endbadgovernance: ‘No death during protests in Niger’ — Police

The Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Danmaman, has refuted reports of fatalities during the “End Bad Governance” protests in Suleja town, Niger State.

Speaking to journalists in his office, CP Danmaman stated that he had not received any reports of loss of life during the protests, contradicting earlier claims from some media outlets.

However, he confirmed instances of vandalism and looting of properties at the secretariat of Tafa Local Government Area.

CP Danmaman made this statement shortly after returning from Suleja and Tafa Local Government Areas, where he assessed the situation firsthand.

The “End Bad Governance” protests have been ongoing nationwide, with varying reports of deaths, violence, and calm from different parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Minna, the capital of Niger State, has seen normal vehicular and business activities with no reports of placard-carrying protesters.
