#EndBadGovernance Protest: Security operatives in show of force in Rivers [PHOTOS]

A combined team of security operatives conducted a public show of force on Saturday in Rivers State.

While protests remained relatively peaceful in some parts of the country, several Northern states experienced a breakdown of law and order as hoodlums looted and burglarized homes and businesses.

Curfews were imposed in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, and Yobe states, with a heavy security presence on the second day of the demonstrations.

Our correspondent, covering Day 3 of the protest, observed Counter Terrorism Unit officers, recognizable by their red headgear, arriving at Pleasure Park alongside regular policemen.

The officers blocked the road, tightly gripping their guns and impeding movement for about five minutes as a show of force, before moving on.

Their presence effectively intimidated and sent a clear message to the small group of protesters at the scene.

Some of the protesters who were seen holding onto placards for display, were dissuaded from lifting their written signcards as they watched the officers drive on.

“Nah Una we dey fight for” (We are fighting for you too), some of the protesters told the security operatives as they drove past.
