Endrick scores on Real Madrid debut in win over Valladolid

Endrick scored on his Real Madrid debut as Carlo Ancelotti’s side secured their first La Liga win of the season with a hard-fought home victory against Real Valladolid.

The champions were frustrated for much of the match, despite it being Kylian Mbappé’s home debut, but they found their rhythm after Federico Valverde’s second-half breakthrough.

Substitute Brahim Díaz doubled the lead in the 88th minute, skillfully collecting a long pass from Éder Militão and chipping it over Valladolid goalkeeper Karl Hein.

Eighteen-year-old striker Endrick sealed the victory with a powerful shot inside the near post in the final minute of added time.

Valverde shifted the momentum in the 50th minute, driving a low shot that deflected heavily off Stanko Jurić to beat goalkeeper Hein and open the scoring.

The first half was challenging for Carlo Ancelotti’s team, as Valladolid sat deep, limiting space and neutralizing the threat posed by Mbappé, Vinícius Jr., and Rodrygo.

The match came to life as Valladolid pushed for an equalizer, leaving more space for Madrid to exploit.

Mbappé made several promising runs but was unable to score in his home debut.

Real Madrid, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Mallorca in their La Liga opener last weekend, will next face Las Palmas on Thursday at 20:30 BST.

Brazil prodigy Endrick marks his Madrid arrival

Endrick’s much-anticipated debut for Real Madrid lasted just over 10 minutes, but he has already made a significant impact.

The Brazilian forward agreed to join Real Madrid in December 2022, but due to FIFA regulations prohibiting international transfers of players under 18, he only officially joined the team in July of this year.

While much attention has been focused on Kylian Mbappé’s arrival, Endrick has also generated considerable excitement. A promising young talent, he holds the distinction of being the youngest player to ever score for Brazil.

During his time with Palmeiras in Brazil, he scored the winning goal for his country in a friendly against England in March.

Though his appearance against Valladolid was brief, it was impactful. Endrick brought a fresh energy to the field and excelled where Mbappé—whom he replaced in the 86th minute—had struggled, demonstrating strong link-up play and making smart moves.

In a game that had been largely scrappy, Endrick’s late performance added a touch of class.
