Mr Ejikeme Omeje, the All Progressives Congress Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South, Enugu Federal Constituency House of Representatives candidate, died in an auto accident on Tuesday morning.
Omeje, a pharmacist and top APC leader in Enugu North Senatorial District, died on the Eden Ani/Nsukka road, near the El-Rina hotel in Nsukka.
Although the police or the Federal Road Safety Corps have not officially confirmed the accident, eyewitnesses said that it happened as he was returning from Edem-Ani town following a political meeting.
It was gathered that he was driving alone along Erina-Edem Ani road when he suddenly lost control and his car entered inside bush where the car hit a tree on the process.
An eyewitness who gave his name as Okechukwu Ezeme said that Omeje was rushed to a hospital where he died early due to serious injuries he sustained in the head.
