The wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu has been abducted from her residence in Arepo, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria.
The incident was confirmed by the Ogun Police Command Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The kidnappers reportedly launched a coordinated attack in the Arepo area of Obafemi Owode Local Government, causing shock and fear within the community.
Odutola disclosed that the victim was ambushed as she approached her home in a Lexus Jeep. She was dragged from the vehicle and taken through a swampy area to an unknown location.
“The divisional police officer has led a team of officers to the scene, where they are currently searching the swampy bush area,” Odutola stated.
Local authorities, including the Baale of Warewa and Maaba, have been contacted to deploy community security forces to assist in the search, focusing on the riverine areas.
