Ex-Reps member Onyemaechi regains freedom from kidnappers’ den

Former House of Representatives member Joan Onyemaechi has regained her freedom after being abducted.

The Delta State Police Command confirmed her release to Channels Television on Saturday.

The Command’s spokesman, Bright Edafe, stated that the former lawmaker was freed on Friday night.

However, he did not disclose whether any ransom was paid, indicating that further details would be provided later.

Joan Onyemaechi, who has previously served in the Delta State House of Assembly and was the immediate past Commissioner for Technical Education in the state.

She was kidnapped by gunmen on July 30 from her church premises along DBS Road in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

During the abduction, a police aide and another individual lost their lives.
