Ex-Rivers Police commissioner Mustapha hands over to new CP Adepoju

Former Rivers State Commissioner of Police, AIG Mohammed Mustapha, has officially handed over to CP Olubenga Adepoju, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Rivers State.

Mustapha, recently promoted to Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and deployed to Zone 6 in Calabar, expressed gratitude to the officers and men of the Rivers State Police Command, as well as residents, for their support during his three-month tenure.

At the handover ceremony held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Port Harcourt, he highlighted the command’s achievements under his leadership, including advancements in crime fighting, peacekeeping, and infrastructural development.

In his maiden media briefing at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt, CP Olubenga Adepoju assured citizens and businesses of enhanced security.

He outlined key focus areas for his administration, including strengthening intelligence gathering, promoting community policing, engaging the public, combating cultism and youth violence, tackling oil theft, and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for corruption.

As the 47th Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Adepoju thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and the Police Service Commission for entrusting him with this role.

He emphasized integrity and collaboration with stakeholders as guiding principles for his leadership.
