EXCLUSIVE: Hoodlums launch coordinated attacks on Customs Facilities, Warehouse, Personnel [Photos]
Information reaching Newsclickng.com has it that attacks by rampaging hoodlums disguising as #EndSARS protesters was on Tuesday extended to customs facilities, warehouse and personnel.
Recall that the media has been overwhelmed with reports of looting and destruction of both public and private properties nationwide by hoodlums disguising as part of those youths genuinely demanding for a restructure of the Nigeria Police Force peacefully under the #EndSARS campaign.
Findings by Newsclickng.com correspondents revealed that the hoodlums invaded Customs warehouses in Benin, Delta and Ogun States. Men of the service were also abducted while others were badly injured.
Benin Attacks
Newsclickng.com gathered from reliable sources that the hoodlums on Tuesday October 20th besieged the customs government warehouse in Aduwawa, Benin and overpowered Customs officers on duty, looted the GWH and carted away seized rice, cars etc.
When contacted, the military activated action and are on the trail of the hoodlums. The service has however began stock taking of to properties and equipment carted away by the hoodlums.
Ogun Attacks
Further findings by Newsclickng.com correspondents revealed that on Wednesday, 21 October, 2020, a Customs approved checkpoint at Agbara was attacked and burnt down by the #ENDSARS Protesters and Hoodlums.
According to eyewitness accounts, the protesters and hoodlums looted the 38X50kg bags of seized foreign parboiled rice awaiting transfer to Government Warehouse in Seme that could not be moved earlier due to the blockage of roads by the protesters.
However, the Newsclickgn.com gathered that the officer in charge of the checkpoint successfully moved official vehicles and rifles to a safe abode before the free-for-all commenced.
Abduction of official vehicle in Ekiti
Newsclickng.com also gathered that elsewhere on Wednesday, October 2020, some hoodlums disguising as #EndSARS protesters waylaid two officers coming back from visiting round in an official vehicle with Registration NO. CS 283A1/0.
The hoodlums brandishing all kinds of dangerous weapons over powered the unarmed Officers and took away the official vehicle before reinforcement teams could arrive the scene.
Meanwhile, residents confirmed to Newsclikcng.com that the abducted official vehicle was being used as means of conveyance by the hoodlums. However, frantic efforts are said to be in place with sister agencies to arrest the hoodlums and recover the abducted vehicle.
