The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has rescheduled the implementation date for the new toll charges at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport from July 17 to August 1, 2023.
According to a statement released by FAAN’s management in Abuja on Sunday, the decision to postpone the toll changes is aimed at allowing airport users to continue benefiting from the current charges.
As per the new toll fare, cars will be charged N300 instead of the previous N200, while buses and Sport Utility Vehicles will be charged N500, up from N300.
For trucks with six tires, the toll will increase from N500 to N1,000, and the tariff for trailers and containers will be set at N2,000.
The public is urged to take note of the revised effective date and the updated tariff structure.
FAAN also made an appeal to all airport users who own vehicles, encouraging them to utilize the designated ‘Park and Pay’ facilities available for car parking. These facilities have been provided to enhance the convenience of airport users.
Additionally, the statement emphasized the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations governing movement within the airport’s drop-off zones. By respecting these guidelines, it will contribute to a smooth traffic flow and foster a peaceful and tranquil environment around the airport premises.
The statement partly reads, “Commercial drivers are to use the drop-off zone to drop their passengers but not to engage in pick-up of passengers as the airport already has registered car hire services (FAAN Taxi, Bolt, Uber) situated along the airport exit way.
“There is an exclusive parking lot for heads of MDAs, MDs of private companies, and highly recognised individuals for their comfort as frequent fliers and their status in society.
“VIP parking stickers are also available for those who want to enjoy VIP parking privileges.
