A human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), claimed on Monday that the 2023 presidential election, held on February 25th, 2023, was marred by a number of factor including result manipulations.

This was stated by Falana during an interview on Channels TV.

Other factors, such as insecurity, late arrival of materials, violence, and thuggery, according to Falana, hampered the electoral process.

Remember that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) had challenged the declaration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the presidential election.

He urged INEC to go back to the drawing board and address the issues that arose during the previous elections.

Falana speaking on the electoral process said;

The presidential and National Assembly elections were marred by insecurity in many places, late arrival of materials, violence and thuggery and manipulation of the results.

INEC has admitted that there were logistic and technological challenges. Nobody is saying that the election was perfectly conducted. There are challenges.

INEC should go back to the drawing table and fine-tune its strategy. They said they painstakingly made plans to conduct elections, but the implementation had some challenges. To me, this is an admission on the part of INEC.
