Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), particularly expectant mothers, are being urged to enroll in the FCT Health Insurance Scheme, facilitating their access to cost-effective healthcare services.

At an event focused on enrolling pregnant women from Amac and Bwari area councils and distributing delivery kits, Adedolapo Fasawe, the Secretary of Health for the FCT, expressed that the community-based health insurance scheme has already enlisted more than 160,000 beneficiaries across the six area councils of the FCT.

The primary objective of this scheme is to eradicate maternal mortality and ensure that pregnant women in the nation’s capital have access to affordable and readily available healthcare.
