Federal High Court announces annual vacation for judges

The Federal High Court in Abuja, under the leadership of Justice John Tsoho, has announced its annual vacation schedule for 2024 along with the vacation roster for judges.

According to a statement released on Monday by Assistant Director of Information/ICT, Catherine Christopher, the vacation period will span from Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024, to Friday, September 13th, 2024.

Normal court proceedings will resume on Monday, September 16th, 2024.

The statement emphasized that the vacation period is intended to provide judges with a well-deserved break and to enable them to prepare for the tasks and responsibilities of the upcoming legal year.

“Consequently, the Litigating public will be at liberty to approach ONLY the under-listed functional Courts amongst the three premier divisions located nearest to them with Matters of extreme urgency,” the statement added, listing the approved high courts as those in Abuja, Lagos, and Port-Harcourt.

The Vacation Judges for Abuja are Hon. Justice Emeka Nwite and Hon. Justice Peter O. Lifu.

For Lagos- Hon. Justice Akintayo Aluko, and Hon. Justice Isaac D. Dipeolu.

And for Port-Harcourt, Hon. Justice A. T. Mohammed, and Hon. Justice P. M. Ayua.
