The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has attributed the non-payment of June 2025 salaries for some federal civil servants to technical glitches experienced during salary processing, particularly by Zenith Bank.

In a statement released on Friday, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the OAGF, Bawa Mokwa, confirmed that the office had received complaints from government employees who did not receive their June salaries. Following an investigation, it was revealed that a technical network fault occurred during the processing of payments, primarily affecting workers whose accounts are held with Zenith Bank.

“The glitch disrupted salary payments across several Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs),” the statement read.

The OAGF acknowledged the anxiety and inconvenience caused by the delay and assured affected employees that corrective measures were already in progress. “We regret the inconvenience this has caused and assure staff that we are working with the relevant service providers and stakeholders to resolve the issue without further delay,” it said.

The statement added that efforts were ongoing to reprocess the failed transactions promptly and that the welfare of federal employees remained a top priority.

Mokwa reaffirmed the office’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in payroll operations. “We remain open to ongoing engagement with stakeholders to improve service delivery and prevent future occurrences,” he said.

The office called for calm and patience, assuring affected public servants that they would receive their salaries shortly.
