The Federal Government has lauded actress Toyin Abraham following the box office success of her latest film, Oversabi Aunty, which has generated ₦1 billion in Nigerian cinemas.
According to report, the movie, released on December 19, 2025, reached the ₦1 billion mark on Monday.
In response to the milestone, the government, through the Nigerian Film Corporation, hailed the achievement as yet another positive indicator of growth within Nigeria’s creative industry.
The Corporation in a statement shared by its managing director, Ali Nuhu, said: “This achievement places Ms. Abraham in the prestigious league of filmmakers whose works have not only connected culturally with audiences but have also demonstrated strong commercial viability in an increasingly competitive cinema market.
“Oversabi Aunty is a clear example of how locally rooted stories, when properly produced, and strategically marketed, can achieve extraordinary reach and impact. The film’s success reflects a deep understanding of the Nigerian audience, a strong distribution strategy, and the growing cinema-going culture across the country.”
Also, celebrating her achievement, the actress in an Instagram post, appreciated her fans and the general public for their support.
