The Federal Government is set to arraign 130 suspects on Friday, including 113 foreign nationals (87 males and 26 females), predominantly from China and Malaysia, and 17 Nigerian collaborators (4 males and 13 females), for their alleged involvement in high-level cybercrimes, hacking, and activities threatening national security.
The suspects were arrested during a coordinated raid by the Nigeria Police Force at a building located in the Next Cash and Carry area of Jahi, Abuja.
They were reportedly using advanced computers and other devices to carry out their criminal activities.
The operation, which took place on Saturday, November 3, 2024, was led by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Benneth Igweh, and involved officers from the Nigeria Police Force Zone 7 Command Abuja and the National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC).
The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned before Justice Ekerete Akpan of the Federal High Court.
