FG declares another public holiday

The Federal Government has announced Tuesday, October 1, 2024, as a public holiday in celebration of the nation’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended his congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad on behalf of the government.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Dr. Tunji-Ojo commended the patience and hard work of Nigerian men and women, assuring them that their efforts will not go in vain.

Echoing the theme of the anniversary, the minister emphasized the importance of reflecting on the contributions of “our heroes past” and drawing inspiration for the challenges ahead, noting that the Nigeria of “our dreams” can only be realized through unity.

As he wished Nigerians a Happy Independence Day Anniversary, Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged citizens to remain committed to the task of nation-building.
