A fire has damaged a section of the Lagos Blue Line track near the Eko Bridge.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening with no casualties reported.
“There was a fire outbreak on a small section of the Lagos Blue Line track at a location opposite the NEPA Station by Eko Bridge, heading towards Apogbon,” announced Gboyega Akosile, spokesperson for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, on his X handle.
The fire was reported at 4:12 pm, with no casualties and no train service active at the time of the incident.
A team of safety officials and other first responders quickly extinguished the fire.
“Residents in the area can continue their activities peacefully, as the situation is under control,” Akosile added.
