A late-night fire outbreak at the popular Aleshinloye Market in Ibadan, Oyo State, has destroyed goods worth millions of naira.

The fire, which reportedly started around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, engulfed the Plastic Merchants section of the market, destroying hundreds of shops and goods, leaving many traders devastated.

Firefighters from government agencies and private companies worked tirelessly throughout the night to contain the blaze. While the fire was eventually brought under control, embers continued to smolder in the affected areas.

The Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government Area, Kehinde Akande, visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment.

Speaking to journalists, he noted that the full extent of the damage was yet to be determined but assured that the state government would investigate the incident and take appropriate action.
