The Adamawa State Police Command has successfully rescued five boys who were allegedly abducted and illegally transported from Maiduguri in Borno State to Mubi, Adamawa State.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the operation was carried out on September 13, 2025, after receiving reliable intelligence.
Responding promptly to the information, the Area Commander in Mubi, ACP Marcos Mancha, led a surveillance team that found the children roaming the streets of Mubi town.
The boys were identified as Adamu Musa (16), Suleiman Idris (10), Suleiman Mohammed (11), Dauda Yahaya (11), and Mohammed Alhassan (11), all of whom are said to be from the Gwange area of Maiduguri, Borno State.
Preliminary investigations, as announced by the police, indicate that the children were abducted and taken from Maiduguri by a suspect identified as Aliga Suleiman, a resident of Sabon Layi, Gwange, who is currently on the run.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect, while the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over the case for further investigation.
Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, commended the swift action of the Mubi Area Command and ordered a full investigation to ensure the suspect is brought to justice and the children are safely reunited with their families.
The Commissioner also reassured the public of the command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property across Adamawa State.
