Five alleged bandits arrested in kebbi as police recover ₦2m, arms

The newly established Operations Restore Peace, made up of the 36 Mobile Brigade Force (MBF) squadron in Kebbi State, on Sunday carried out a successful operation that led to the arrest of five suspected bandits from Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, targeting activities linked to armed banditry and kidnapping.

According to Kebbi Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, the apprehended individuals had been terrorizing Tadurga and several nearby communities along the Zamfara border, especially within Bukkuyum.

Abubakar added that the suspects admitted to the offenses. Security personnel recovered an AK-47 rifle, a substantial quantity of arms and ammunition, and two million naira in cash believed to be ransom proceeds.

Commissioner of Police Bello M. Sani praised the mobile squadron for their courage, persistence, and consistent patrol efforts. He encouraged them to maintain the momentum until bandits and kidnappers are forced to abandon their criminal operations across Kebbi State.
