Officials from the Lagos State Government arrested five individuals on Saturday, October 19, 2024, for obstructing traffic and causing an environmental nuisance on Raymond Njoku Road in Ikoyi, Lagos.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed that those arrested included the celebrant, event planner, musician, and others involved in the event.

“The suspects were detained for blocking a major road during a birthday celebration,” Wahab said. “They will be prosecuted in a court of competent jurisdiction in accordance with the relevant state laws.”
The Lagos State Government emphasized that no one is above the law and that such violations of state regulations will not be tolerated.
