Five tankers carrying diesel explode in Kano

On Tuesday, In the Farawa Kwanar Yashi region of Kano State, a fire destroyed five tankers that each held 20,400 liters of diesel.

According to the state fire service, the portable generator was used to upload the products from the diesel tankers to surface tanks in an unfinished building used as a diesel storage area when the fire started from a generator spark.

Saminu Abdullahi, the State Fire Service’s spokesperson, stated that although three persons were trapped in the fire, they had been rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment and that no casualties had been reported in the blaze.

Abdullahi said, “Three victims who were trapped namely Mai Daura Sadi 24 years old, Hassan Sadi and Iliyasu Sadi about 25 years respectively were all rescued alive.”

He added that a corporate employee had made an emergency call to inform the firefighters of the fire problem, and they had arrived at the scene at 00:29.
He stated that the unfinished structure, which was being utilized as a storage place for diesel, five diesel tankers, each holding roughly 20,400 liters of diesel, one Lifan machine, and three portable generators were all on fire when the soldiers arrived.
According to the spokesman, the firemen were able to contain the situation and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings while also preserving three fuel tankers and nine surface tanks.
