A former head of service to the federation, Adamu Fika, has died at age 90.
On Tuesday, the Fika Emirate Council in Yobe State confirmed the death of Adamu Fika CFR.
In a statement signed by the acting secretary to the Fika emirate council, Ali Gimba-Fika, the late Waziri died Tuesday night at a residence in Kaduna.
Fika was the previous permanent secretary of the police affairs department, the Ministry of Communication, and the Federal Capital Territory.
The late administrator was born in 1933 in Fika, Yobe State, and holds the highest traditional title of Fika Emirate Council as Waziri.
He was also the pro-chancellor, chairman of the governing council of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2018, and the chairman, of the board of trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) until his demise.
Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has condoled with the Fika Emirate Council over the death of the elder statesman.
Buni, in a statement by his media aide, described his death as a great national loss with a wide vacuum for his family, the Fika Emirate Council, and Yobe State.
His funeral prayers will be held Wednesday, 4 p.m. at the Sultan Bello mosque in Kaduna.
