Ladi, the aged widow of the maiden Kano State Governor, Audu Bako, is dead.
The pioneer first lady died aged 93.
Zainab Bako, her daughter, confirmed her mother’s death to reporters on Wednesday. She revealed that the nonagenarian died at Kano’s Prime Specialist Hospital after a long illness.

It was learnt that her funeral rites would be held at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, Kano.
Her late husband was appointed Military governor of the old Kano State from May 1967 to July 1975.
During his tenure, Kano State witnessed massive socio-economic development, which successive governors of the state have been and still building upon.
