The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Dr. Olu Agunloye, a former Minister of Power and Steel, as wanted.

The minister, originally from Akoko North Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been declared wanted by the anti-graft agency due to suspicions of corruption and forgery.

According to reports, Agunloye was previously interrogated by the EFCC in September concerning an alleged $6 billion Build, Operate and Transfer contract.

On Wednesday, the commission officially announced this development on its website, sharing information with the public and displaying Agunloye’s image.

The EFCC message read, “Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Benin, Kaduna, Ibadan, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Mardi, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Uyo, Port Harcourt, and Abuja offices or contact 08093322644 or email [email protected] or the nearest police station and any other security agencies.”

In 2016, Agunloye joined the Social Democratic Party and emerged as the party’s candidate in the gubernatorial election in the state.
