A doctor who became France’s first confirmed Ebola patient has recovered and been discharged from hospital, French Health Minister Stéphanie Rist announced on Saturday.
The physician tested positive for the virus after arriving in France on June 23 from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where authorities are battling a major Ebola outbreak.
According to the health minister, the doctor has fully recovered and has been allowed to return home after receiving treatment.
The case marked the first confirmed Ebola infection recorded on French territory, prompting public health authorities to closely monitor the situation and implement appropriate containment measures.
