The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ondo State Command, said on Saturday that it deployed 1,144 personnel across the state to facilitate unrestricted movement during and after the yuletide season.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Ezekiel SonAllah, revealed this information in an interview on Saturday.
SonAllah clarified that a total of 588 regular and 556 special marshals have been strategically deployed to minimize road crashes during the yuletide period.
The sector commander highlighted that the FRSC is actively engaged in a public-private partnership with the private sector to facilitate the swift recovery of vehicles that might experience breakdowns on the highways, aiming to prevent road mishaps.
Additionally, he mentioned that FRSC personnel have been deployed to areas prone to accidents. The command is also collaborating closely with other security agencies and transport unions to ensure a record of zero crashes during the specified period.
SonAllah, therefore, called on drivers and the general public to obey traffic rules and regulations to prevent accidents, saying “Only the living can celebrate.”
“It’s mandatory for commercial drivers to install speed limit devices in their vehicles.
“We will arrest any commercial driver found driving without speed limiters mounted on their vehicles because life has no duplicate
“So, I implore all road users to be safety conscious at all times while using the highways
“Moreover, road safety is everybody’s business. All hands must be on deck for us to ensure that there are no accidents on our roads,” he added.
